Our genes form a map of connections, not only physically, but even in the tiniest of gestures….the turn of a head, the gesture of a walk, the sound of a voice, even a way of being. Â We are products, in part, of ancestry, and, directly, of our physical parents. Â Sitting together, a mother and daughter are almost identical imprints of one another. Â In ways we can be very different, and those differences help establish our individual person hood. Â Yet, in other ways, we carry a special bonding that often becomes even more pronounced with time. Â Someone says, “You look just like your mother!” Â And so you do. Â The similarity is striking…a compliment to the finer aspects of our bond as parent and child.
